A nice cartoon banana made in just four easy steps

Already … it’s time to draw! First, you can sketch a few curved lines to create a basic template that will be used to adjust all proportions and help us draw a nice and realistic illustration. This fruit is relatively simple to create, so only a few basic lines are required. You can see the one I have created for this tutorial below.

Good work! It’s now time to draw the banana itself. The shape is pretty similar to the template created earlier, but the tip of the subject is slightly more complex. As long as the general shape of the fruit is recognizable, then you are ready to proceed with the next step.

How To Draw A Monkey: Outline Step By Step

Step 1: Outline the monkeys face

Time to start outlining and see what we can improve on our already awesome monkey sketch.

Lets start with the face. Draw out the eyebrows, rounding off the corners.

Next, draw the eyes. Here we have flattened the bottom of the eye, so the eyes are more a D shape. Fill in the eye pupils, leaving a white patch for the reflection.

Fill in the nose leaving out the nostrils and a white patch for the shiny highlight on the nose.

Finally, the mouth and tongue are just straight traces of the sketch.

Step 2: Draw monkeys ears and face mask

This step is simple just outline the ears and the face mask the sides of the monkeys face and the oval around the mouth.

Then add the scruffy, spiky patch of hair on the top of the head.

Step 3: Draw the monkeys head

Here comes the fun part. Enough of drawing boring flat lines, lets do some funky random zig-zags! If you remember, we used this technique a long time ago on our scruffy cat.

Outline the monkeys head with a jagged line. Notice that the spikes follow the shape of the head pointing sideways on the forehead and down at the jaw, joining together in a downward pointing fluff at the chin.

Step 4: Draw the monkeys body

More scruffy zig-zag lines! Trace the entire monkeys body with the same scruffy fur outline. Again, notice the direction of the pointy spikes follows the direction of the body.

What a fashionable scruffy fur jumpsuit!

Step 5: Outline the hands and feet

Our usual final step is to colour in the banana. Same as before, use a darker yellow, along with orange or brown for shading the banana skin. The peeled banana is a light beige, with some white patches. If you do not have that many different colour shades, use the same yellow as for the skin with just very light strokes.

That’s it – you have learned two different ways how to draw a banana!

Step 1: Draw the basic head and body shapes

Lets start our monkey drawing with a simple circle for the head. Then add the face cross to help us place the facial features.

The body is kind of a rounded rectangle two curved sides and an almost flat bottom.

Well, well, doesnt this look familiar? This is our basic bowling-pin head and body again.

Step 2: Draw the monkeys face and ears

Next, we add a simple face. Draw two larger standing ovals for the eyes, placed on the horizontal face-cross line. Then add a smaller, flat oval for the nose, placed on the vertical face line. And finally, draw a small curve for the mouth.

Now add two large monkey ears to our bowling pin. They are both simple C shapes. Since our head is at a three-quarter view, the ear on the left is partially hidden behind the head. The other ear is placed slightly into the head, rather than on the edge.

Step 3: Draw the monkeys face mask

This is the trick that turns a boy-with-big-ears face into a monkey face. First draw a flat oval all around the mouth, starting at the top of the nose.

Then add the monkeys heart-shaped face mask. These are two C curves, starting in the middle of the forehead at the face centre-line and going down to the oval around the mouth.

Step 4: Sketch the legs and feet

Time to give our monkey some legs. As our monkey will be dangling on one hand, his legs also dangle sideways.

Step 5: Sketch the monkeys arms

Step 6: Something to hang on

Step 7: Sketch the hands and feet

Even colouring the banana is simple. Just use some yellow to colour in all of the skin. Then use some darker yellows, oranges or light browns for any shading.

For a fresh, not yet ripe banana, you can even add some light green. For some more colouring inspiration, check the picture of different banana ripening stages at the top of this banana bread recipe.

Who Invented The Banana Split

A 23-year-old pharmacist apprentice named David Evans Strickler is credited with inventing the banana triple ice cream sundae in 1904. Back then, this was a high-priced dessert costing 10 cents, or twice the price of other ice cream sundaes where Strickler worked at the Tassel Pharmacy in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The price didn’t deter customers, though, and the treat became popular throughout the country.

In 2004, the 100th anniversary of the city of Latrobe celebrated the invention of the banana split. That year, the National Ice Cream Retailers Association dubbed this Pennsylvania city as the banana split birthplace.

How To Draw A Banana With The Skin On: Base Sketch

Step 1: Draw two banana-shaped lines

To draw a banana, you start with two banana-shaped curves. Seriously!

Draw the flatter top line first. Then add the bottom one more curved out – you are aiming for a nice fat middle and two narrower ends.

Step 2: Draw the banana ends

Now add the banana ends. The top left one is a curve – tighter at the upper line, and smoothly transitioning into the lower side. This will be the round end where the banana stem connects.

Next, draw the pointy end of the banana. Start with a small rectangle standing on one corner at the end of the bottom banana edge. Then extend the side pointing back into the banana top with a straight line.

Step 3: Draw the banana stem

Let’s finish off our sketch by adding the stem to the banana. Draw another one of those sideways rectangles, and connect it with two slightly curved lines to the banana body.

8. Draw a long, curved line from the stem to the end of the banana, following the curvature of the fruit. This indicates the split in the banana’s peel.

9. Draw a second long, curved line down the length of the banana, indicating another division of the peel.

10. Color your banana. Most bananas are green or yellow, depending on the variety and level of ripeness but some bananas turn pink when ripe!

Propagation Preparation And Type Of Stock

How to Make a Banana Split

Dissemination of vanilla can be achieved either by stem cutting or by tissue culture. For stem cutting, a progeny garden needs to be established. All plants need to grow under 50% shade, as well as the rest of the crop. Mulching the trenches with coconut husk and micro irrigation provide an ideal microclimate for vegetative growth. Cuttings between 60 and 120 cm should be selected for planting in the field or greenhouse. Cuttings below 60 to 120 cm need to be rooted and raised in a separate nursery before planting. Planting material should always come from unflowered portions of the vine. Wilting of the cuttings before planting provides better conditions for root initiation and establishment.

Before planting the cuttings, trees to support the vine must be planted at least three months before sowing the cuttings. Pits of 30 × 30 × 30 cm are dug 30 cm away from the tree and filled with farm yard manure , sand and top soil mixed well. An average of 2000 cuttings can be planted per hectare . One important consideration is that when planting the cuttings from the base, four leaves should be pruned and the pruned basal point must be pressed into the soil in a way such that the nodes are in close contact with the soil, and are placed at a depth of 15 to 20 cm . The top portion of the cutting is tied to the tree using natural fibers such as banana or hemp.

How To Draw A Peeled Banana: Outline The Drawing

Step 1: Draw out the side peels

Start outlining the banana by drawing out the two side peels and the centreline. The only small differences from the sketch are the top sharp corners on the peel slightly rounded off, and some zig-zag line to close the peel at the tip.

Step 2: Draw the lower banana half

Finish drawing the lower half of the banana in the skin by outlining the banana body and stem. Again, the outline is a straight copy of the sketch, except for adding some jagged edges to the square end of the stem.

Step 3: Draw the peeled banana

Next, draw the peeled end of the banana. If you have keen eyes, you will notice that we have added a bit of a pointy tip to the upper closing curve for a more realistic banana shape.

Step 4: Draw the rear folded peel

The final part of the sketch that needs outlining is the rear folded peel. Again, this is a straight copy of the sketch, with some zig-zag line to close the tip of the peel.

Step 5: Add final details and banana texture

Our banana drawing is complete, and while it looks pretty good, we can still improve it by adding some final details.

Fill in black the end of the stem. Add some fold lines at the centre of each peel – the one at the rear needs two lines, one from the top and one from the bottom.

And finally, add some light texture lines to the peeled banana end – longer lines along the length of the banana, with some short cross-lines.

The banana is a familiar fruit. In fact, it is one of the most important food crops in the world. Bananas grow in tropical regions, and the fruit is shipped all around the world.

Contrary to popular belief, bananas don’t grow on trees. Banana plants are actually giant herbs, and the trunk is made of the plant’s many leaf stems. Each banana plant may produce a bunch of up to 150 bananas.

Did you know? Each banana fruit is called a “finger,” and clusters of bananas are called “hands.”

After the fruit is harvested, the plant is cut down as each stem produces just one bunch of fruit. Then, more stems will grow from the roots to form new banana plants.
