Cats have been a part of human life since around 3100 B.C., evidence of which can be found in ancient Egypt. There, cats were regarded as deities.
Their association with humans likely arose from their attraction to mice that invaded human settlements. It is thought that cats may have been domesticated in Africa, the Middle East, and China at an even earlier date.

The Stars Are Shining
One of the funnest tools to use in Inkscape is the “Create Stars and Polygons” tool. In the submenu up the top make sure the star tool is selected, set your corners to 5 and the spoke ratio to 0.300 and then click and drag to create a star. You can change the fill and stroke settings to anything you like but I am going to reuse the light yellow gradient we made for the moon which you can find in the drop down menu for radial gradients. To add a bit more depth you might like to duplicate the star and under the fill and stroke options you have the option to blur the edges. You can set the percentage quite high if you like, mine is up at around 40-50% for a nice glow around the edges. You can do the same to the moon if you wish.To save a bit of time I selected both the original star and the duplicate that we blurred- and grouped them together by pressing control+g. I then duplicated this grouped object and repositioned them all across the canvas, using the “Select and Transform Objects” tool to scale them up and down and to rotate them around.

One of the most adorable pets is the cat. Cats were once worshiped in Egypt as gods. This tutorial will teach you how to draw a realistic cat’s face.
Eyes Ears Foot And Tail
Draw two smaller off-centered ovals side by side inside the head for the cats eyes. Beneath that, draw a small curved upside-down triangle for the nose. Two curved triangles on each side of the head will form the ears. Next, to draw the two front feet, start from the middle of the body and draw something like an extra-long W. Then, draw the two back feet on each side of the bottom. Finish up with a tail. As long and wavy as you would like.

Getting Started With Drawing Guides
The best way to get students off to a good start to any drawing lesson is to show them how to use guides as a reference point.
You may have noticed that all of the tutorials on this website have a dashed vertical line and horizontal line running through the center of each step. If students make their own centered lines on their own paper, before drawing, they will have an easy reference to follow.
For instance, as seen in Step 1 below, this cat sketch starts with circle that is in the top right section of the paper. Its easy for students to follow when they have their own guides on their paper too.
When students get their drawing off to a good start, theres a better chance of them feeling successful by the time they are done. Drawing skills are all about getting the size and placement of lines on paper. Having some visual reference point to get started, will always help anyone learn how to be a little more accurate.
So does that mean students need to get out a ruler to draw a big line down the center of their paper before they start? No, that will most likely be hard to erase and distract from any finished art. Instead, they simply fold the sheet of paper in half both ways, make a crease, and unfold. The beauty is that by the time the drawing is done and colored in, the creases will disappear.
And now, on to the black drawing project.

Learn How To Draw A Cartoon Black Cat With This Easy Step By Step Tutorial Those Big Eyes Are Too Much Fun To Draw
The best part of cartoon drawing includes learning how to draw exaggerated shapes. Professional cartoon artists may make it look easy, but it takes time to learn how to make the most impact with just a few lines.
One example of this is the use of oversized heads. They just plain look funny, and also conveniently leave room for expressive eyes. And oversized eyes that are flat on top are a very simple way to make anyone, person or animal, look unhappy.
On this cat, they definitely make you think twice about whether you would pet him, or not.

Materials To Draw A Black Cat
- Pencil. The Ticonderoga brand are the most reliable, make nice dark lines when you need them, and are the easiest to erase. Buying the pre-sharpened ones will save busy teachers a lot of time.
- Eraser. Large ones you can hold in your hand do a much better job than just the pencil tip erasers, especially when erasing leftover pencil lines after tracing.
- BlackSharpie Marker. These fine point permanent marker pens make nice black outlines, have a good tip for coloring, and never bleed when they get wet. Use them with good ventilation and add extra paper underneath to protect your tables.
- Prang Crayons. These are a bit softer than other crayons so they sometimes look like oil pastels. They also have a some nice brown shades that Crayola does not have unless you buy their larger boxes.
- Crayola Crayons. The reliable brand that always works well. The 24 pack has some of my favorite golden orange and yellow colors that seem a bit richer and warmer than the ones Prang has.

How To Draw A Black Cat Clipart Filled With Great Effects
In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a black cat clipart that is visually appealing and not so difficult to achieve. All effects are added using a vector application and once you are familiar with some of the techniques used for this character, drawing beautiful images won’t be a secret anymore!
Since we are working with an animal mostly filled with grey and black colors, adding relevant shadows, highlights and reflections is even more important. Our goal is to create some depth and make this cartoon cat easy to read using mostly a few basic shapes. Ready? Let’s proceed with the first step now!
step 1 – drawing the cat using short and long curved lines
First, let’s create this beautiful animal using various lines. Notice the singular shape of the head as well as the long and thin body. Eyes are large and made from simple curved lines while the nose is tiny and created from a triangle. The mouth is really small and the ears are short and drawn using triangles. Don’t forget to add hair on both sides of the head and on top of this one.
step 2 – plain colors to add some life to this character
I know. We are working on a black cat. However, we need to fill in this one with a dark grey color for now. Patches found inside the ears must be grey while the eyes are yellow and pupils are orange. If you really want to use black colors, then use it inside the nose and on all outlines and strokes. )
step 3 – color gradients to give more volume to the animal
Creating The Back Legs
Next, we are going to create the hind legs. Using the “Draw Bezier Curves” tool, your starting point will be in around about the same place as the smooth node at the bottom of the cats body. Click once to start the shape, move up and out to the left, then click and drag to create your first smooth node. Move your cursor towards the centre of the body and down below the point you just made, then click and drag to create the second smooth node. Move your cursor up and out to the right to approximately the same position as the point to the far left, then click and drag to create another smooth node. To close the shape click on the node you first created. The beginning/end node will be sharp not smooth. We can fix that by activating the “Edit Paths by Nodes” tool, selecting that single node, and choosing “make selected node symmetric” from the submenu up the top.If you need to fine tune the shape you can do so using the “Edit Paths by Nodes” tool. With this tool selected you can either drag out the shapes using the blue handles connected to each node, or you can click and drag on any of the outlines. I prefer using the handles because I find I have more control doing that way. You can change how the node behaves in any free-form shape by selecting the node and changing it from smooth, to sharp or symmetric, using the submenu at the top, depending on the shape you’re trying to create.

How To Draw A Black Cat For Halloween
The step-by-step video tutorial:
For the first few steps, don’t press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.
Step 1: Draw two short, diagonal lines for the cat’s eyebrows. Sketch lightly at first. When you get the angles right, darken the lines. Bend the tips to emphasize the furrowed brow. Under each eyebrow, draw a curved line for the bottom part of the eyes. The overall shape of each eye should be similar to a triangle.
Step 2: Inside each eye, near the left side, draw a small V-shaped line for the pupils.
Step 3: Below the eyes, draw a small triangle shape for the nose. Curve the top edge a bit.
Step 4: Under the nose, draw a wavy line that stretches toward the right side for the first part of the mouth. Now draw a similar line that stretches to the left for the second half of the top of the mouth. Under those two lines, draw a longer V-shaped line for the bottom part of the mouth.
Step 5: Inside the mouth, at the top, draw two V-shaped lines for the teeth. Below that, draw two curved lines for the tongue. Don’t overlap the teeth.
