By Step Instructions For Drawing A Christmas Present
1. Begin by drawing a slanted square. The top and bottom lines should be parallel and diagonal, the sides completely vertical. This will give your present a three dimensional look.
2. From the top and bottom of the first square, extend a set of parallel lines on the opposite diagonal. Then, connect them using a straight line. This forms another side of the box.
3. Use two straight lines, along with the tops of the previously drawn squares, to enclose the top of the box.
4. Draw another set of lines parallel to those drawn in the previous step. This begins the lid of the box.

Once You Learn How To Draw A Christmas Tree Why Not Put It In A Really Fun Place Like A Snowy Mountain Instead Of Inside A House
If Christmas is a magical time of the year, then why not think outside of the box, and imagine a tree in a really unusual place? Trees in homes can be really pretty, of course, but a tree in the middle of nowhere starts to tell story. Who put it there? Is it for people who live there, or just come and visit? Who are the presents for? Is there going to be a party?
Lastly, when it comes to coloring your drawing, heres a tip that will keep your snow looking white and fresh. All it takes is to NOT draw the little circles with a black marker. Just stop when youre done tracing the tree and mountains, put down the black marker, and draw the snow circles with the sky blue color. Afterwards, fill in the background and you will have some very pretty and soft looking snow.

How to Draw a Christmas Tree
How To Draw A Christmas Tree
Like usual, we will start by roughing in our basic Christmas tree shape. This is a triangle, of course. We often Use Shapes to Draw because it makes drawing complex objects easier.
Draw a small rectangle at the bottom for the trunk. Or, you could draw one of those fancy looking tree holders instead.
To make our Christmas tree a bit more interesting, we are going to add some different sections for the tree.
This is done by drawing in some additional triangles that overlap.
Overlapping is a technique used to show depth in an otherwise flat drawing.
This is a great opportunity to add your own style. There are many different ways you can draw out your sections of tree. Dont feel like you have to follow mine exactly.
Add a star at the top of the tree.
And start drawing in some garland. Again, there are several ways to draw this. You want to make sure it looks like its wrapping around the tree.
This is easily accomplished by using a few techniques when drawing your garland. Youll want to draw your garland on an angle.
Bring the ends out past the tree a little bit to show some thickness. This will keep your garland from looking flat.
Youll also want to curve your lines to help make it look like its wrapping around the tree.
Now add some Christmas lights to your tree. You want to draw them in a similar way to how you drew your garland to make it look like theyre wrapped around the tree.

First Step Putting Up The Cartoon Christmas Tree
When you think Christmas tree what kind of shape do you first think of? A circle? A square? How about a triangle? Of course!
So, before you do anything else, draw a nice big triangle on the page in front of you. Be sure to draw it nice and tall too, but be sure you leave some space at the top and bottom of the page.
At the end of the lesson, youll need this space to draw something at the top. The space at the bottom is reserved for the trunk or tree stand.
The next step similar to some of the other lessons here on the site, is to draw out the shape of your cartoon Christmas tree using the triangle as your guide.
Start at the very top and working your way down the side, draw spikes just like Ive done in the example. The triangle helps to keep everything in place as you draw.
When one sides complete, go back up to the top of the tree and do the same thing to the other. Then, finish it off with a nice big swoop at the bottom.
The next step is to get rid of the triangle underneath your Christmas tree. Go ahead and erase the triangle before you continue.
The only other thing to do in terms of the actual tree, is to something on the bottom stump, tree stand, etc. I went with the stump as its nice and simple. If you plan on putting lots of presents under it, you may want to leave this area empty for now.
Well, now youre all finished the main part of your Christmas tree. So, what next then?
Draw The Bottom Layer Of The Christmas Tree
Draw the last layer underneath the layer we drew in the previous step. This should be the biggest layer among all four layers of the Christmas tree.
Keep in mind that the Christmas tree should form a triangular shape. That means, the layers from top to bottom should go from the smallest to the biggest.
After completing this step, you should now have four layers and the structure of your Christmas tree should now be complete!

Two: Getting The Form
2. Now that the tiresome brainwork is out of the way, lets begin. Were going to start by drawing one big triangle. Im making mine an isosceles triangle since I think theyre swell.
3. Next, we can draw the trunk which can just be a small rectangle at the bottom.
4. Now is when we get crazy. Place a much smaller triangle at the top of the tree.
5. Add another similar triangle underneath that one.
6. Repeat until youve got triangles on top of triangles, son! Your tree should sort of look like this when youre done with it. Well be using these smaller triangles as our guides for each branch set.
And dont worry if yours looks lopsided or uneven! Christmas trees arent ever symmetrical anyways.
Easy Christmas Tree Drawing: Base Sketch
Step 1: Draw three triangles
Here is the basic shape for our Christmas tree drawing three triangles, stacked one on the top of each other.
As usual, this is your drawing so if you want a really tall tree, feel free to stack more than three triangles. Or if you feel really lazy, you can get away with just a single triangle it will still work. But three is a good number here
Step 2: Add Christmas decorations
This is the magic step that turns three triangles into a Christmas tree! Lets get into it.
First we add a trunk to our tree this could be a simple rectangle, or make it touch wider at the base as in our drawing.
Next add Christmas decorations simple circle baubles at the lower pointy ends of each triangle.

Fourth Step Candy Canes
Candy canes at Christmas time are a must! They make for excellent decorations and taste great too.
Can you guess what Im going to ask you to do now? Yes you guessed it check out the Candy Cane lesson to learn to draw simple candy canes for your Christmas tree. Then, cmon back and continue.
And, once youve got the hang of drawing them, go ahead and hang some candy canes on and around your tree. Similar to the ornaments, make sure some of them are facing left, while others face right. Draw them on angles too for a more realistic look.
Wow, this Christmas trees really looking great now isnt it! Thats what happens with a real Christmas tree too the more lights, ornaments, etc. you put on it the more spectacular it looks. But even still, theres one thing missing something that goes on top!
Christmas Tree Drawing: Base Sketch
Step 1: Draw the base tree shape
Here we go again, building our tree shape from triangles. This times there are four of them, just for fun. And they are not really triangles, as we have curved all the sides outer ones in, and bottom ones down.
Start at the top. Then feel free to build your tree as high or as short as you please. Notice that the shapes for the ring of branches are getting flatter and wider as you draw down the lower parts of your tree.
Step 2: Add the star, chains and trunk
This is the first step where we dress up our Christmas tree. We draw the star at the tree top as before. The trunk is also similar to the one above just a little curved at the bottom this time, to match the trees shape.
And now the new stuff a chain wrapped around our Christmas tree from top to bottom! Here we only sketch the lines and draw the two pearls small circles at each end. We will draw them all out once we get to outlining our drawing.
Step 3: Add more Christmas decorations
Part two of dressing up our Christmas tree here we add all the baubles to make our tree look pretty.
They are all just simple circles. We have made them all the same size, but feel free to dress up your tree with any size you want! And they do not need to be all just baubles either- add some stars or other shapes, if you want.
Step 4: Draw some presents
Here we keep adding details to our Christmas tree drawing to make it more interesting, and draw some presents.

Second Step Christmas Tree Lights
Christmas tree lights always help to give that extra “Christmasy” look. Better yet, theyre really easy to draw!
Basically what you want to do is come up with something like you see to the right. for the Cartoon Christmas Lights lesson. And when youre all done, continue below to string them up on your tree.
I suggest four or five rows of lights the ones at the top shorter and the ones at the bottom wider. Remember, this is a cartoon drawing and so, keeping things simple is a good idea.
Make sure you leave some room for the decorations coming up next. The more space you leave to draw them, the less of a hassle it is because you dont have to worry about erasing.
So, hows your cartoon Christmas tree looking now? Much better with the lights isnt it!? Just wait until youve got the whole tree covered in colorful decorations!
Alright, lets get going with the next phase of the lesson drawing some basic cartoon Christmas tree ornaments!
