Add In The Legs And Belly
Your cow drawing is really starting to take shape now! For this next step, we will be focusing on two of the legs and the belly of your cow.
Using some more curved lines, you can add in the neck and then the leg portions as you see them in the picture. For now, we will be leaving a space between the chest and the leg on our left.
Shaping The Rump And Tail Of Your Cow Drawing
There are two parts to this step. Firstly we are going to create the shape of the cows rump, and then we will create the shape of the tail. Both of these parts can be completed with a single line. Cows have quite square rumps, so begin by taking a line from the top of the body oval, and create a slightly square but curved shape that extends until it is in line with the back of the main body oval.
Once you have curved down by 90 degrees, take the line down to create a curvy tail shape that drops as low as the bottom of the main body oval. You can finish this step by taking the line back up to a point, and then taking it down to join the back point of the main body.

Joining The Head And Body With The Neck
Now that you have laid down the basic shapes of the cows head, it is time to draw in the necklines to connect the body and head in your cow sketch. Begin with the top line, creating a gentle curve from the top of the head oval shape onto the top of the main body oval.
For the bottom neckline, begin at the point where the nose meets the bottom of the head oval, and curve this line up to create the chin. You can then arch the line down to join the main body just below the front point.
The Outline For The Shape Of The Horns
Creating the horns of your cow drawing is yet another simple step because all you need to do is make sure that the horns are curved and tilted slightly on either side of the cows head. Angle the horns slightly downward on both sides. If the horn closest to us is directly above the horn that is furthest from us, we will obtain the correct perspective.

Constructing The Cows Udders
In this step, we are going to use an incomplete circle to lay the foundation for the cows udder. We will be adding more details in later steps, but for now, simply draw an incomplete circle underneath the main body oval shape towards the back.
Remember not to make the udder too far back because we still need to lay down the foundations for the back legs.
The Tail And The Rump
Your drawing of a cow will now be almost complete, leaving only its rear and tail to be added. For this step, two sections must be completed. We will begin by making the rump and the tail of the cow in the next step. Each of these sections can be completed using one continuous line.
Beginning at the top of the body oval, draw a line that is comparable to a square with rounded edges, crossing over the back of the main body oval. The lines must be curved at a 90-degree angle, and once that is done, you can create the effect of a curly tail. The line can be taken back up to a point and then brought down to meet the main bodys back point.

More Easy Drawings Of Cows
If youre enjoying everything youre seeing so far, do not leave, continue with us because now Im going to continue putting the simple drawings of cows so that you can copy them again and again. When you repeat a drawing a lot, you end up knowing how to do it by heart, and in a short time you will not need guidance.
And here we go with a drawing of a cow that is sitting as if it were a puppy. It is a drawing of very simple shapes. You must start by making an egg that is going to be the head. When you have it you start to put all the details of the head: nose, eyes, ears and horns. Then you will do the front part of the body, which are the two front legs and the chest of the vaquita. Finally you do the two hind legs, which give the feeling of drawing a seated cow. Its easy, right?
This cow drawing is a bit more elaborate than the previous one, so you have to have a little more skill to draw. The advance in the quality of the drawing here is given in that the forms are no longer as straight as in the previous one. You can see that in the legs that go from least to greatest, or in the shapes of the head.
In this drawing of cows we see a very nice design. The forms are totally unreal, but the final result is very good. A very nice drawing of a cow.
This drawing of a cow a little more pulling realistically in terms of forms, but outlining a small smile and very tender eyes. Its another nice cow drawing so you can learn to draw well.
Adding In The Shape Of The Back Legs
For the back legs, you can use exactly the same process as you did for the front legs. The only difference is that these legs are much larger, a little curvier, and angled slightly forward. Begin with the very back leg which is the one closest to our perspective. The back of the thigh should curve quite strongly, and the front line of the thigh is hidden from view by the udder.
The second leg should be slightly more angled, and you can draw only the bottom segment and the hoof as the rest is hidden from our view.

Drawing The Shape Of The Front Legs
If you take a look at the final drawing at the end of this tutorial, you will see that the cow has a slight square bump on its chest just in front of the front legs. As such, we need to leave some space just after the neck joins the main body oval to allow for this before we draw the front legs. For the first front leg, the one that is closest to us, use two straight lines that angle towards each other to create the cows thigh. Use a short curved line to create the joint, and then create the bottom of the leg with two parallel lines. Finish this leg by drawing a hoof shape.
The second leg is further away from us, so it will appear slightly shorter and thinner. You can simply repeat the process for this leg, just making it a little smaller.

Creating Dimension With Shadows And Highlights
In this second last step, you are going to use black and white to create shadows and highlights throughout the body of your cow sketch. Begin with a small brush and a touch of black paint. Start tracing along the texture lines you created earlier, adding contouring throughout the cows body wherever the light would naturally not fall. You can then take a little white paint and do exactly the opposite adding small touches of highlight along the peaks of some of these shaded areas to create a contrast between the shadows and raised areas.
For both the shadows and highlights, you can use a dry and soft brush to gently smear the highlights and shadows, creating a more natural blended effect.
How To Draw A Cow For Kids
Children since childhood know that a cow gives milk, makes mu-mu, and also cheerfully nibbles grass in the meadow. Some of them saw a cow in a village with a grandmother, some only on the pages of books and cartoons. But, in any case, it will be interesting to learn how to draw a cow for children.
Lets start with the torso. To do this, draw a sizeable horizontal oval.
On the right, draw a smaller vertical oval this will be the head.
Let us separate the front part of the face with a semicircular line and draw ears similar to two petals.
We now draw straight horns, small eyes and nostrils.
Then you need to draw four straight legs. Do not make them too thin after all, they need to keep quite a lot of weight.
And, of course, need a tail with a tassel.
The cows are often spotted. Therefore we will add some large oval spots.
To make the drawing look more expressive, it is better to bring out the contours.
Now we paint. Paint the spots, hooves and tail of the cow with black, the inside of the ears and the front of the face are pink. And do not forget to draw the nipple it should also be pink.
All drawing is finished. Each step is described in great detail, but if you want to find out more information, you can watch this video tutorial.

The Main Body Construction Shape
As a rule of thumb, you should always begin any animal drawingby setting out the largest part of the body first. Therefore, the first thing were going to do in our cow drawing tutorial is to lay the foundations for the main part of the cow. We have found that it is very useful to use ovals as the main construction shape for most of our animal drawing tutorials, so let us stick to that.
Draw an oval in a horizontal position in the middle of the page or canvas you are working on. In the beginning, as you are drawing this first construction shape, be sure to leave plenty of space on both sides of it so that you can add additional parts of the cow later on.

Drawings Of Cartoon Cows
I finish with this part with a caricature drawing of a complete cow. Here the face is even more caricatured than in the previous drawing of a cow. The non-appearance of the mouth, and sticking to the side of the snout as if they were cheekbones gives much sympathy to this drawing of a cow. The rest of the body is also very caricature, with the shape of a drop style that denotes a chubby body with very small extremities. A nice drawing of cows so you can learn to draw.Anyway, if you want to learn to make drawings of cows with more quality, now I present the tutorial with which, if you follow it step by step, you will learn to draw a cow with a simple method.

All that is left next is to colour in the cow’s nose, ears and udder with some light pink. The grass is of course green – and draw also a green patch for the cow to stand on. And that is it – you have learned how to draw a cow.

Adding Patterns And Textural Details
This step may appear to be an intimidating step up from the last, but it is actually much more simple than you think. We are going to use different lines and markings to create the color pattern on the cows body and creating a realistic coat texture.
Begin at the neck, adding a series of quite heavy lines curving down the neck to give the impression of creased skin. You can then add some short lines and dots to the face of the cow drawing, using them to contour around some of the facial features like the eye and nose.
For the patterns and textures near the drawing outline, you can give them a slight curve to make them appear wrapped around the body, creating more three-dimensionality.
Finish this step by using squiggly lines to create some cow-like color patterns throughout the body. You can follow our example, or let your imagination run. Once you have your pattern laid out, use some final lines and markings to create texture throughout the rest of the cows body.
