To draw this cartoon Pig step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below the video. The new lines in each step are shown in red, so you’ll know exactly what to draw next. You may want to open the video in a new tab and use both drawing methods. Take your time and draw at your own pace.
For the first few steps, don’t press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.
Step 1: Lightly sketch two small ovals for the cartoon pig’s eyes. Sketch lightly so that it’s easy to erase if you make a mistake. When you get the shapes right, darken the lines. Inside each eye, draw two tiny circles to represent glare or highlights. Shade in the pig’s eyes using a dark value but don’t overlap the tiny glare circles.
Step 2: Below the eyes, off to the right, lightly sketch a small, triangular shape for the cartoon pig’s snout. Curve the corners of this triangle. When you get the shape right, darken the lines. Inside the snout, draw two tiny circles for the pig’s nostrils.
Step 3: Starting to the right of the eyes, draw a line that moves up, and then curves to the left for the pig’s head. Notice how high above the eyes the top of the head is and how close to the eye the right side is.
How To Draw A Pig: Base Sketch Step By Step
Step 1: Sketch two ovals for pigs head and snout
Our pig drawing starts as usual with a few simple base shapes to build the character.
Draw a larger oval this will be our pigs head. Then add a smaller oval inside, about one third from the bottom this will be the pigs trademark snout.
Step 2: Add an oval for the pigs body
Next, add another large oval for the pigs body. As you can see in the picture, the body crosses over the head shape in the top-right quarter.
Feel free to play with the size of the body oval you can make your pig fatter or thinner, taller or smaller, depending on how you stretch the body oval.
Step 3: Sketch the pigs legs
Here we give our pig some legs. They are made from two parts the rectangle for the leg, and a small rhombus for the hoof. If you want to draw really simple shapes, these can be regular rectangles.
But as you can see in the picture, the legs will look much better if you will make the leg slightly wider at the top and draw the tops of the hooves at an angle.
We have added a helping ground line to keep the legs the same length and immediately broke the rule with the front leg hoof sticking down.

How To Draw A Pig: Outline The Drawing Step By Step
Step 1: Draw the pigs head
With our sketch complete, it is time to start outlining our pig. Lets start with the head there are no changes here, the outline is a straight copy of the pigs face, ears, and face. We have filled in the snout holes and the eyes just another smaller oval left out white for the pupil, the rest of the eye is all black.
Step 2: Draw the pig’s legs
Next, outline the pigs legs. There are few subtle changes here:
Notice the two legs that are extended slightly over the body shape this will make them stand out in front of the body and give the pig drawing some depth.
Another simple change is all the hooves are slightly rounded. We have also added a short line to separate the two toes.
Step 3: Draw the pigs body
Time to finish our pig drawing. Complete the body outline break the body outline for the two legs in front of the picture, and draw through the two further from us.
Then draw out the twisted tail. Oh, and a final improvement two small lines inside the ears, to better suggest the fold in the ear.

Now We Will Draw In A Face For Your Pig
Your pig drawing is almost finished now, and it needs a cute face!
The reference image we provided has a happy face for your little pig, so you can try to replicate it using some ovals, circles and curved lines.
For this step, you could also change some elements for a unique look to it. For example, you could change the facial expression of your pig by changing details such as the eyes, eyebrows and mouth.
Theres definitely a lot of room for you to be creative with it!
Creating A Clean Line Drawing
Use your kneadable eraser and lighten up the underdrawing until you can barely see it. Then grab your marker and start tracing the underdrawing. Try to vary your line weight to give the drawing more character.
In this step, it is important, that you don´t blindly trace your lines. The ear, for example, is in front of the body so dont trace the line of the body, that is behind the ear!
When you traced all the lines with the marker you can erase the underdrawing completely as you don´t need them anymore.

How To Draw A Pig: Happy Cartoon Pig Drawing
Today we will learn how to draw a pig. We will start with easy oval shapes for the body and head. Step by step we draw a pig from the ovals by adding the trademark features oval snout, floppy ears and a curled pigtail. The cartoon parts of the pig drawing are the simplified body shape, large googly eyes and a happy smiling mouth.
Paint Or Colored Markers
For coloring, I mostly use Copic markers. But you can use watercolors or acrylic colors too, no problem. As long as your paper can take it you will be fine. You can test how your paper absorbs different paints by testing the paints on a spare piece of paper.
If the paper curls up when getting wet or if the color runs off instead of staying on then your paper is not cut out for that kind of paint.

Coloring Out Baby Pig Drawing
Whenever I am coloring a drawing I usually choose the colors before I start.
For this drawing, I chose a very light pink color for the main body of the pig. I also chose a reddish color for the cheeks and a slightly darker pink color for the shadow areas.
And finally, I picked an almost black color for the eyes of our pig.
I started by coloring in the main body of our pig with a light pink color.
I chose the darker pink color to color in the nose of the pig and I also colored in the eyes.
Finally, I used the darker pink color to draw some basic shadows just to give the pig a little more depth.
And you are done. Hopefully, you ended up with a great illustration of a baby pig, that you can be proud of.
If you are struggling with the drawing just keep calm and try to trace back, where your mistake was and then just correct it. And if you keep on doing this without getting frustrated then you will be able to draw this very fast!

Now Draw In The Pigs Body
For this step in our guide on how to draw a pig, we will be using the other oval that you draw in as a guide.
You can trace over most of it with a pen, leaving a gap at the bottom where the legs will be going.
Once youre happy with the head and body of your pig drawing, you can erase the ovals that you drew in step 1.
If you drew over the pencil with a pen, make sure that the ink is dry before you start erasing! If you start erasing too early, you could smudge the ink if its a bit wet.

Learn How To Draw A Cartoon Pig With This Easy Step By Step Tutorial Who Could Resist Drawing Such A Cute Face
Kids love cartoons, and cartoon characters are often some of the things they first try when learning how to draw. The simple lines and cute faces and easy coloring probably have a lot to do with it.
This Cartoon Pig tutorial starts with a large and symmetrical face, which gets the students off to a solid start. A straight view of any face is so easier to draw as they just need to match one side up with the other.
After the face is complete, its easy to add a body that is turned just a bit. Thats all it takes to make sure that famously curly tail shows. Finish with a fence or yard or barn, anyone of which would make an adorable drawing.

Next We Will Draw In The Legs And Tail
In the next step of our guide on how to draw a pig, we will be adding in some legs and a tail. This pig will have some cute, stubby little legs, so when you add them in they will be really short and stout.
The reference image will show you how you could make them.
Once the legs are drawn in, you can add a little corkscrew tail using some simple curved lines like the one in the picture.
You Can Refer To The Simple Step
Start by drawing an oval. This will form the head of the pig. The oval, drawing an irregularly shaped circle, is like a heart with a round bottom. This will form the nose of the pig.
Draw a curve from the nose, and a longer curve below it. Draw two lines of U below the longer line to form an open mouth. Draw a short curve, from the top of the nose to the top of the oval, and a long curve from the bottom of the mouth to the top of the oval.
Erase the remaining line directions from the oval. Draw the ear using a series of U seams are connected. Draw the other ear, using the same curve.
To form the body, draw a large oval overlapping the back of the head. Draw a long curved curve, from the bottom of the head to the bottom of the oval. Eliminate remaining line guides from the large oval.
Outline the legs by drawing two sets of curves. In each chain, the lines should be spaced at the top rather than at the bottom. To form the far leg, draw two sets of curves that extend from the abdomen. Delete the path from the footer.
Connect each foot set with a curve, then use two U lines to form the nails. Draw a twist, overlapping to form a tail.
Draw another curve parallel to the first line, clearing the overlapping lines as needed.
Draw two ovals on the nose to create a nose. Draw a curve through the mouth, and shade on it.
