STEP 1: DRAW THE BODY
- First of all, you should start drawing the deers body. As you can see in the image, the body is basically an irregular oval shape.
STEP 2: DRAW THE FIRST FRONT LEG
- On this second step, we will draw the first front leg. The leg should be divided into 4 parts, as you can see in the image.
STEP 3: DRAW THE SECOND FRONT LEG
- The second front leg will be divided also in 4 parts. This second leg will be drawn straight standing on the ground, meanwhile, the other leg is lifted from the ground creating a slight curve.
STEP 4: DRAW THE FIRST BACKLEG
- Like the frontlegs, the back legs will be divided into 4 parts. The difference here is the arrangement of the leg will be different.
- Check in the image below how different is the bone structure of the back legs compared to the front legs.
STEP 5: DRAW THE SECOND BACK LEG
- The second back leg will be drawn extended backward, so we can recreate the sensation that the deer is walking.
STEP 6: DRAWING THE DEER´S NECK
- From the front part of the body draw 2 curved parallel lines, that will become narrower on top, where the head will be placed. The neck will have a tube-like shape.

Start Drawing Deer Legs
Now were going to move to the legs.
Much like with the dragon image were going to outline the shape of the legs before finishing them off.
From the body line we made earlier take the large curve downward further down in that curve, but leave a little bit extended out for the tail.
Now, remember the unique knee shape of the dragon?
Similar to the deer, create a little bit of a sharp edge and then bring that edge inward.
For the back hind leg make a little line outward from the first dip in of the leg we just made, then bring it straight down!
On the front leg, were going to make a long crotchet rest symbol, and finally, a little bit away from that, under where the chin of the head is, were going to make a straight line with a little curve outward at the bottom of it.

Now Draw The Head Outline For The Deer Head
Now that the antlers are complete, we will start to draw the head outline in this step of our guide on how to draw a deer head.
First, there will be two curved lines between and under the two antlers. Then, we will use some more curved lines for the outlines of the ears, and then there will be a sharp shape inside of the ear on the right.
Then, we will continue using some more curved lines for the pointy face, and finally for the outline we will use a jagged line for the back of the neck.
We will be using that jagged line to make the neck look furrier. Finally, we will add some details for the interior of the face.
These will include some oval shapes for the eyes and some lines on the face to give it more bone structure.
Learn How To Draw A Deer With This New Step By Step Tutorial Who Can Resist Drawing A Baby Deer With Such A Cute Face
If students can learn to see the basic core shapes of their subject matter, before they even start to draw, it will help them immensely as they continue their studies.
In this case, this young deer has a very round head, and a pill shaped body. Once those two elements are down, in a good size and relationship to each other, the rest of the drawing is much more likely to fall together. The large ears, upturned tail and thin legs are easy to add once a well-proportioned head and body are in place.
Not all animals have as clear an example of starter shapes as I think this deer has. But sticking with projects that do, when students are just figuring out how to draw, is a great way get started. The trickier subject matter can come later on, after some confidence in their skills has been established.

Next Add Some More Details For The Deer Head
We will continue to add more to your deer head drawing in this next step. Primarily, we will be focusing on the neck and chest of the deer.
First, draw some more curved jagged lines down the front of the face and extend the one for the back a bit more. Once again, these will help to make the deer look nice and furry.
Then, we will be drawing a shape onto the chest of the deer to make it look like there is a tuft of fur there.
We will draw that using another jagged line that forms a pointy shape pointing down on the chest. Once you have drawn all of these aspects, we can start to add some final touches in the next step.
Now You Can Finish Off The Final Details Of Your Deer Head Drawing
Your picture is already looking great, but we will make it look even better with some final details in this step of our guide on how to draw a deer head.
First, we shall start with the eyes. They look a bit creepy as is, so we shall fix this by filling the eyes in with some black.
Next for the face, you can draw some detail for the nose of the deer. You can also add some more lines around the nose for extra detail.
Then, we will add some line detail to the antlers to give them a bit more depth.
You can then finish off by drawing lots of small lines on the neck and back of the deer head to finish it off with some more hair detail.
These are the details that we chose for our image, but you could also add some of your own! You could draw the rest of the deer or create a cool background for a few ideas. We cant wait to see what you decide to do!
