Go Over The Drawing In Ink
Finally, it is time to go over the drawing in ink. Using the pen of your choosing, carefully trace over your pencil lines. To make sure you don’t smear any ink, be sure to keep a spare piece of paper under your drawing hand. Afterward, use stippling on the deer’s fur to give it texture.
When you’ve finished inking, you can either add color to the composition or leave it as is for a striking black and white illustration of a male deer in a snowy forest!
Now You Can Finish Off The Final Details Of Your Deer Head Drawing
Your picture is already looking great, but we will make it look even better with some final details in this step of our guide on how to draw a deer head.

If students can learn to see the basic core shapes of their subject matter, before they even start to draw, it will help them immensely as they continue their studies.
In this case, this young deer has a very round head, and a pill shaped body. Once those two elements are down, in a good size and relationship to each other, the rest of the drawing is much more likely to fall together. The large ears, upturned tail and thin legs are easy to add once a well-proportioned head and body are in place.
Not all animals have as clear an example of starter shapes as I think this deer has. But sticking with projects that do, when students are just figuring out how to draw, is a great way get started. The trickier subject matter can come later on, after some confidence in their skills has been established.
How To Draw Deer Step By Step
Step 1 First draw a small oval for the head. Then we will draw outlines for the body. Draw 2 large ovals below the head with some gap in between them. Below the first oval draw 2 small ovals for the knee joints of the front leg and draw the hooves below it. Connect the joints, hooves and body to form the front legs. Follow the same technique for the hind legs also as shown in the figure.
Step 2 Draw the entire shape of the deer by following the outlines. Move along the outlines using light stroke of line until the whole body is formed.
Step 3 Remove all the outlines. Draw the triangular ears on both sides of the head. Draw the outline for the antlers with single lines. Make it symmetrical. Then work on the eyes, nose and mouth with small shapes.
Step 4 Now we complete the antlers which are of twig shape.; Give more definition to the nose.
Step 5 At last we shade the entire deer with short series of strokes all over the body to show the fur and wrinkles of skin. Keep the body portion plain to show the smooth soft skin. Your deer is free to roam in the jungle.

We will continue to add more to your deer head drawing in this next step. Primarily, we will be focusing on the neck and chest of the deer.
First, draw some more curved jagged lines down the front of the face and extend the one for the back a bit more. Once again, these will help to make the deer look nice and furry.
Then, we will be drawing a shape onto the chest of the deer to make it look like there is a tuft of fur there.
We will draw that using another jagged line that forms a pointy shape pointing down on the chest. Once you have drawn all of these aspects, we can start to add some final touches in the next step.

How To Draw A Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
Starting out go ahead and sketch a framework of simple shapes something to help solidify a structure for your reindeer, before you actually draw him.
Always keep in mind. I only include this step as it *is helpful* to some people especially those who have a hard time with proportion, or drawing from memory.
Whether you sketch these shapes out to look solid and rigid, as I do using a computer program, OR whether you keep your lines super free-flowing and messy *and light* much as I would recommend if youre drawing on paper
Do it if you find it helpful!
So lets start with the eye then and after that, a nice simple circle for Rudolphs soon-to-be, bright red glowing nose.
Heres how it looks
And keep going now, drawing in some of the other features of the head.
Really, its sequence that Im aiming for with respect to drawing Rudolph in a series of simple steps.
But even MORE REALLY
Its all about getting a feel for the drawing. Use these steps as a guide. Use free flowing strokes, make mistakes sketch it all in as you go.
Heres how he looks, now
Nice, looking good!
OK keep right on going with Rudolphs head.
And then also
Start up with some curving lines, gradually bringing his body into view. Like this
This next line, really brings it all together.
A swooping curve lining the neck and lower perimeter, of our reindeers body
Down to Rudolphs feet now and over to his tail, too!
Looking very nice
So now were just about to wrap things up.

Now Draw The Head Outline For The Deer Head
Now that the antlers are complete, we will start to draw the head outline in this step of our guide on how to draw a deer head.
First, there will be two curved lines between and under the two antlers. Then, we will use some more curved lines for the outlines of the ears, and then there will be a sharp shape inside of the ear on the right.
Then, we will continue using some more curved lines for the pointy face, and finally for the outline we will use a jagged line for the back of the neck.
We will be using that jagged line to make the neck look furrier. Finally, we will add some details for the interior of the face.
These will include some oval shapes for the eyes and some lines on the face to give it more bone structure.

How To Draw Rudolph The Red
Use the videos and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Stay tooned for more tutorials!
The written step-by-step video tutorial:
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, dont press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Draw two circles as guides for the first part of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeers body. First draw four small marks for the height and width of the circle, then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly at first so that its easy to erase if you make a mistake. But the circles dont have to be perfect. Theyre just guides. If you do want a perfect circle, trace the outer rim of a coin, a lid or any other object with a circular edge. The two circles should be about the same size, and their edges should touch.
Step 2: Draw another circle on the top, right side as a guide for the head. This circle should be slightly bigger than the circles for the body. Dont draw this circle too far away from the body, otherwise Rudolphs neck will be too long.
Step 3: Inside the head, near the bottom, draw a curved, horizontal line as a guide to help you place Rudolphs eye later.
Step 4: Draw the guide for Rudolphs muzzle as a small arc on the right side of the head. First draw a small mark to determine the height of the arc, then connect the mark to the head using curved lines.
