Step #3: Draw Some Contour Lines On The Lips
To make the lips pop out of the paper and to have a 3-dimensional effect, lets plan the shading and draw a few contour lines.
Use an HB pencil to draw the contour lines on the lips. The direction of the lines is such a way to represent the bulging upper and lower lip.
Note the direction of the lines.
Step By Step Instructions For Drawing A Kiss Emoji
1. Begin by drawing a circle to outline the emoji’s round face.
2. Draw a round eye and a winking eye. On one side of the emoji’s face, draw a small circle and shade within it. On the opposite side, use two short, curved lines to enclose a curved shape, like a crescent moon. Shade within this shape.
3. Draw a thick, curved line above each eye to indicate eyebrows. Notice that the lines are thicker towards the middle of the eyebrow, and more narrow on the ends.
4. Below the eyes, draw a curved line like a backwards number “3.” This forms the mouth with puckered lips, ready to blow a kiss.

Lets Sketch Something Together
Since this is a sketching tutorial for beginners, Im using my left hand to show you that you dont need to have good control of your hand in order to sketch well.
Step 1: Sketch a circle loosely
I sketched a circle using a bunch of loosely drawn lines. Dont worry if your lines are going in weird directions. Its likely that youre not going to draw something perfect the first time around. Thats totally fine! Remember, were supposed to work in layers.
Step 2: Refine the shape
After your initial sketch, find areas that need improvement and sketch over it until you get closer to your desired result.
Step 3: Keep refining
Keep repeating that step until you get even closer to what you want.
Tip: You can rotate your sketch book to help your eyes look at the shape differently. You might spot some obvious areas that need fixing.
Step 4: Define the shape
Happy with how it looks overall? Use more confident lines to define the shape of your circle. You can erase the scribbly lines or let them disappear naturally as you continue to work on your drawing.

Lesson 1: How To Sketch
Drawing is simply the process of layering shapes, lines, scribbles and values on top of each other until you get your desired result.
In this first lesson, were going to focus on the process of sketching. If you can make a mark on a piece of paper, you can learn how to sketch! You dont need to be able to draw straight lines or perfect circles in order to be an artist.
General Shape Of The Neck
A neck is a cylinder, with a slight swelling at the sides caused by the sternocleidomastoid muscle, as well as a slight bulge in the front caused by the Adams apple. The Larynx at the top of the neck is what creates the adams apple. Both men and women have a larynx but it is of a greater size in men and therefore more visible.
2. Base of the neck is lower under the jaw in the front of the head, than it is at the base on the back. The top of the neck slants down to the jaw from the back.
3. Top of the neck at the head is sloping down from the back toward the jaw. This sloping plane where the neck attaches to the head is parallel to the plane where the neck attaches to the body.
4. The neck is shorter in the front, longer in the back. The neck is longer in the back given the trapezius muscle covering a large portion of the back and neck.
5. Sternocleidomastoid produces a hallow space right above the sternum as the sternocleidomastoid muscles from both sides connect to the clavicleS. These muscles start at the sternum and clavicle and push up the sides of the neck and end behind the ears. If you lay down and pick your head up, youll be able to palpate the sternocleidomastoid muscles flexing to lift up your head.
6. Think of the attachment of the neck to the body as if a tree that grows from the ground with roots growing outward with the roots being the muscles of the neck. .

Step 1: Draw The Opening Of The Mouth And General Shape Of The Upper And Lower Lips
Photo & Art: Sara Barnes / My Modern Met
The first step of any drawing is to start with the most basic shapesregardless of the point of view that you’re trying to capture.
At this stage, its more important to make a lot of light marks and to get things situated in the right area. Dont be overly concerned with the fine details ; instead, look at the overall shape of the lips and mouth opening. To do this, really study your source drawing. What direction is the mouth line? Is it straight across or does it curve? And if so, how much? Once you have that, notice how thick the upper and lower lips are and then make oval shapes at the line.
Fabulous You’re Now Done
Now that you know how to draw a realistic lipstick you can experiment with various shapes and colors because there are plenty of types of lipsticks to choose from. Also play around with the Adjust Color Balance option in Illustrator and see what you’ll get. You can create plenty of versions starting from the same lipstick. I would love to see your drawings.
Step #9: Shade The Background Of The Lips
Add shades to the top and bottom parts of the lips.
Blend the shades and add more shades. You can make use of a blending stump to blend the shade on the background.
Here it is!
When we draw the human face, the other parts and the surroundings of the lips would follow the pattern of shading based on the light and reflection/shadows from other parts of the face.
How To Draw A Kiss Emoji
What is an emoji? Emojis are small cartoon symbols, typically representing emotions, places, or common objects. The emoji originated in 1999, when a Japanese cell phone company introduced emojis to the text message keyboard. In fact, the word emoji is derived from two Japanese terms meaning “picture” and “character.” Soon, the smiling faces had taken the world by storm.
The smiley face on which many emojis are based has enjoyed a long history. Archaeologists recently discovered a 4,000 year old clay pot that has a simple smiley face painted on its side. One poet even included a “winky smile” emoticon, made from a semi-colon and parentheses, in a poem published in the 1600s. The yellow smiley face we know and love – with its round eyes and “U” shaped mouth – originated with advertising campaigns in the 1960s.

Emojis have various meanings. What does the kiss emoji mean? The gesture of blowing a kiss – also called an air kiss, a blown kiss, thrown kiss, or a flying kiss – is ubiquitous, found in cultures around the world. Depending on the culture, such kisses can be a sign of romantic affection or a general greeting.
Not only are emojis featured on messages, but on products and clothing as well. In 2017, the characters starred in their first animated film, The Emoji Movie.
Step 4: Add Some Shading
Photo & Art: Sara Barnes / My Modern Met
Now that you have the shading planned, its time to start adding it to your drawing. As you apply grayscale values to the lips, use the drawing technique of the back-and-forth method to layer the graphite.

As with all drawings, you’ll want to start with the lighter tones and build to the darker tones. Once an area has reached its correct tone, continue to shade the lips moving onto the areas that are in deeper shadow.
To convey the plumpness of some lips, try creating curved pencil strokes as you shade. It will give the sketch an additional feeling of three-dimensionality.

Kiss Aggressively Use Your Tongue
If you noticed that your partner is enjoying your kissing by her moaning, you should now start kissing more tightly, harder or aggressively. Use your tongue to lubricate the area. Now you need to understand that, while giving a hickey kiss, it is pertinent to know that your teeth are not involved and must also do away with excess spit as you dont want to leave a slobber on your partners neck.
Suck gently on the spot for 20-30 seconds which is long enough for the capillaries on the skin to break and thus, appear the hickey mark.
Build Attention By Foreplay
You are not going to start giving Hickey without building attention. First, stay at some soft play like kissing, French kissing and massage, etc., whatever your partner like most. This helps you both to get ready for it and you will understand if your partner is willing to get love bite or not.
Foreplay is usually is known for sex, but the purpose of foreplay is to build attention. You need to make consideration before you start giving a Hickey to your partner. You can begin by commonly kissing and massage your partner etc. This will help to build attention and make love bite more pleasurable.
Note: If you attempt giving your girl or guy a bug bite without much arousal, you may be spoiling the mood.
Step 2 Sketch The Lay
Now use these dots as a guide and lightly sketch in the layout. In case youre wondering, Im using an HB pencil. The layout is the foundation of your drawing so before moving forward to the shading stage, double check your lines and make any necessary corrections.
Notice that on the upper lip, there are these little cracks and wrinkles. Be sure to include these details.
Next, lets figure out where the highlights are going to be. The light source is coming from above so there will be a highlight on the areas of the lips that are protruding out the most. In this case, that would be this part on the upper lip and this part on the lower lip. Lets lightly mark out these highlight areas.
Im making these highlights very dark so that you can see them in the video, but for your drawing, keep the lines extremely light. Just enough for you to see them.
OK, now for the fun stuff: shading!
