Lets Sketch Something Together
Since this is a sketching tutorial for beginners, Im using my left hand to show you that you dont need to have good control of your hand in order to sketch well.
Step 1: Sketch a circle loosely
I sketched a circle using a bunch of loosely drawn lines. Dont worry if your lines are going in weird directions. Its likely that youre not going to draw something perfect the first time around. Thats totally fine! Remember, were supposed to work in layers.
Step 2: Refine the shape
After your initial sketch, find areas that need improvement and sketch over it until you get closer to your desired result.
Step 3: Keep refining
Keep repeating that step until you get even closer to what you want.
Tip: You can rotate your sketch book to help your eyes look at the shape differently. You might spot some obvious areas that need fixing.
Step 4: Define the shape
Happy with how it looks overall? Use more confident lines to define the shape of your circle. You can erase the scribbly lines or let them disappear naturally as you continue to work on your drawing.
Drawing Anime And Manga Style Eyes On The Head
The placement of anime eyes on the head can vary depending on style. One good way to place anime eyes on the head is to draw the overall shape of the head and draw a horizontal line directly through the middle of it. Draw the eyes directly below this line.
The eyes should be far enough apart so that you can place a third eye in the middle.
Dividing The Face Into Three Parts
The next step requires a know-how of the universal proportion of the face. All adult faces regardless of individual appearances share the same proportion the distance between the hair-root line and the bottom edge of the chin can be divided in three equal parts:
Observe on the model where the hair-root line is intended by nature and mark this line on the drawing. Divide the distance from that line to the bottom of the head into three equal parts by eye or using a pencil as a measuring stick. Do it as accurate as you can precise location of these three parts will help you in placing facial features correctly.
If the models head is on the same level as yours, you would see those three lines horizontal. When the model is located higher than a viewer, lines will be curved upward. The opposite is also true lines will be curved downward when a models head is located lower. The curvature depends on the view angle.
To keep things simple for this exercise, we draw a portrait at our eye-level.

Anime is a popular style of Japanese animation used in cartoons. This characteristic art style emerged in the 1960s, both in cartoon anime and the related comic book manga. Its popularity increased markedly during the 1990s and still continues to grow.
Anime characters typically have large, expressive eyes, and extreme emotions are commonly displayed. Loss, death, unrequited love, and betrayal are popular themes, especially in series aimed at adults rather than children. As such, sad characters such as the one in this drawing guide are a staple in many anime.
Today, over 400 studios produce anime, and others have adopted the style outside of Japan. More than half of the world’s animated television shows are considered anime.

Drawing The Base Of The Neck
When main outlines and contours of the neck in place, we can mark the base of the neck. It has a circular shape and in perspective appears as a tilted oval. This oval goes through the top pair of ribs and defines the width of the neck at its base. This oval also marks the size of the top of the ribcage.
The base of the neck is an important contour because it separates vertical planes of the neck from more horizontal surfaces of the shoulders. As such, it serves as a border between light and shaded areas of those surfaces.

Sad Things To Draw When You Are Stressed
Art therapy can help you heal from stress and channel your energy into something creative, for example, colouring.
Todays society has become patronized by stress.
Everywhere you look you see people who are gloomy or quarrelling over anything.
If they had a balanced life and did not have as many stressors like work, colleagues, bosses, children, parents, life partners and much more, the world would be healthier and more civilized.
Because I tried and it really works, I recommend that you try to colour about 20 minutes every day. You will notice that all your negative energy will be shattered.
For some time now, bookstores have been selling colouring books for adults. There are so many models to choose from.
Art has the therapeutic role of improving the emotional state of people subjected to a very high level of stress and is like a bandage for the wounded soul. It also develops creativity.
By Step Instructions For Drawing A Sad Girl Crying
1. Begin by drawing the girl’s hair. Use long curved lines to outline the top of the head and hair. Use lines of various lengths to craft the tendrils of hair flowing over her face and shoulders. Each lock of hair should end in a sharp point.
2. Sketch the girl’s arm and hand. Use sets of parallel lines to outline the arm. Notice how the lines connect at sharp angles to form the bend of the elbow. Enclose the tip of the sleeve and indicate folded material using short lines. Then, use two curved lines to connect the wrist to the hair, forming the hand.
3. Draw the remaining arm, sleeve, and hand, partially concealed by the first.
4. Use a series of curved lines to indicate the bent leg. Notice how the long line doubles back on itself to form the lower leg.

Why Do I Draw Better When Im Sad
Drawing is like an outlet to most people, and when you are sad, you also feel the urge to draw, especially if you are good at it or have vast knowledge.
When you draw, you are helping yourself forget what you are feeling and focus on your work. You are also channeling the negativity instead of oppressing your sad thoughts.
And this helps in making you draw better every time you feel sad cause drawing is like a meditative practice. As you see your creation slowly developing into something impressive and outstanding, this calms you.
The sad feeling you have also lessened, and even the negative emotions slowly decline.
When You Feel Sad
Sadness is an emotion like all the others, only it is one that we run away from.
You do not like how it feels neither inside nor outside, how it is seen and how you are perceived when you experience this emotion as naturally as possible.
I wonder if we would have felt the same way if we hadnt been programmed as children to believe that sadness is something bad, something that shouldnt happen, something that we should either run away from or replace with smiles.
I see parents who always urge their children not to be sad, not to cry, to always smile, no matter what happens inside them.
Well, sadness, like any other emotion, does not dissolve, it does not disappear as long as it is not consumed, lived, felt.
What can you do? First of all, accept that you are sad. Then wait and let the sadness manifest. The process is painful because it involves relieving maybe that sad event, crying, maybe even screaming, but after it came out it ended, it left, it disappeared and you released yourself, you calmed down.
Nothing good happened overnight.
And dont forget that sadness is a natural emotion. It is like joy, love is part of us and what we feel, and when you deny it, you reject a part of yourself.

In this electronic age, emojis are everywhere, from text messages and emails to clothing, jewelry, school supplies, home furnishings, candies, and more. In 2017, the characters even starred in their first feature film,The Emoji Movie.
What is an emoji? The small cartoons were first introduced by a Japanese cell phone company in 1999, and they generally represent emotions, places, or common objects, such as pets, clothing, and food. The smiley face on which the emoji was based, however, has a much longer history. The earliest smiley face design in art can be seen on a 4,000 year old clay pot recently unearthed by archaeologists. The classic yellow smiley face emerged in the 1960s, during three unrelated advertising campaigns.

The emoji in this tutorial is not smiling, however. He’s displaying one of the most universal signs of unhappiness – he’s shedding a tear. Crying can result from anger, fear, pain, sadness, and sometimes even joy. It is a form of non-verbal communication that allows us to share our feelings with others – just as the crying emoji allows us to share our feelings in a typed message.
How To Draw Eyes
With eyelids depicted accurately, we can place an iris of the eye. Heres another amateur mistake you must avoid placing an iris as a full circle symmetrically between the upper and lower eyelids. Usually, the upper part of an iris is partially covered by the upper eyelid while it might be a small gap between the lower edge of the iris the lower eyelid.
You should also remember that the eyeball is not pure white and often has darker tonal values than highlights of the forehead, for example. Also, there is a casted shadow under the upper eyelid.
Many art students ask me how to draw eyelashes? The professional way is not to depict individual eyelashes unless it is an advert drawing for mascara. One dark curved line would do the job. This is especially important for male portraits.

Why Sternocleidomastoid Muscle Is Important In Portrait Drawing
The muscle with a very long name, sternocleidomastoid, is an important landmark when it comes to drawing a neck. It connects the top part of sternum and clavicle with the base of the skull called mastoid the process of the skull positioned just behind the ear.
We draw this muscle diagonally. In drawing, this muscle not only defines the shape of the neck but also separates its frontal part from the side plane.
Is Drawing Good For Depression
Creative activities can lessen someones depression. Drawing is one creative activity that helps someone cope with depression. As your mind is focused on your drawing, your mind releases creative energy instead, which helps you to recover from depression.
Conflicting emotions can cause depression, and some people, dont know how to handle such feelings that can lead to self-destruction.
Others will have an outlet for such and use their drawing skills instead to combat such feelings. It can be a feeling of hopelessness, feeling loss, or excessive feeling of despair. It is not easy to avoid such emotions for some people since they also cannot understand why they have such negative and conflicting emotions.
Drawing can help the mind relax, get busy and not think negative thoughts, but focus on the artwork.
