Now its time to start adding in some color. Im using for my drawing, but you can use whatever brand you want. You can read the full review at, Prismacolor Colored Pencil Review 48 Pack.
Begin by adding a layer of Canary Yellow to the entire beak and around the eye.
Cream was added to the eye for the base color.
Next, add in some darker areas using Yellow Ochre .
Finally, add some darker areas with Light Umber .
Light Umber was also used to add in some texture to the beak under the eye, and to add some darker areas to the eye itself.
Light Umber was used to add some darker areas underneath the layers of feathers.
Notice how the lines are made with smooth strokes. This will help the feathers to look like they are smooth.
Continue working on the feathers until youve added some color to each section.
For the body of your eagle drawing, add a layer of Light Umber to the entire area.
Then, using Dark Umber , start adding in some darker areas. Let some of the lighter brown show through.
Keep working your way around the body until you are happy with how it looks.
Still using the Dark Umber, add in some darker areas on the eagles head. Make the area around the eye darker, and add some of the darker brown to the beak as well.
A white was used to add the highlights to the eyes.

How To Draw An Eagle Head
“For my own part. I wish the bald eagle had not been chosen as the representative of our country. He is a bird of bad moral character. He does not get his living honestly … besides he is a rank coward: The little king bird not bigger than a sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the district.” – Benjamin Franklin, 1784
The bald eagle, a type of sea eagle, is the national bird of the United States. It appears on the national seal and many coins, as well as on decorations for patriotic holidays, such as the Fourth of July.
Interestingly, depictions of this animal are not always accurate. In movies and on television, the bald eagle is shown uttering a fear-inspiring, powerful call. In reality, this is the cry of the smaller red-tailed hawk. The eagle’s actual call is soft and chirpy.

In addition to its patriotic overtones, the bald eagle is also important to Native American iconography. It is a prominent figure in the mythology of many native peoples, and its feathers are used in ceremonial attire. In some cultures, the eagle is considered the messenger between the human and spiritual realms.
Did you know? The bald eagle isn’t really bald. Its head is covered in white feathers in contrast to the brown feathers of its body. From a distance, it may appear bald. In fact, an obsolete definition of “bald” is “white-headed.” If you would like to see a truly bald North American bird, check out the vulture.

The main thing to do more and improve their skills.By the way, this picture will appeal not only to children but also to adults, because the eagle is very cute here So, first of all, we will draw two ovals connected by a stick.
We draw the contours of the head with a tuft.
Depicting beak and eyes.
We work on the body and legs. And now we paint.
Step 2 Draw The Eye & Surrounding Shapes
Draw the eye as a circle or a light oval with its top portion lightly covered by the eyebrow. You can project the eyebrow line/forehead line from the area where the beak transitions into the head.
Afterwards you can draw a some construction lines for the feather pattern above and below the eye as shown in the example. Please note that the actual feathers will be added in later steps and these lines can then be erased.

Step 12 Finish The Eagle Drawing
Finally add the last bits of feathers as some fairly random batches of clumps around the upper neck area and back of the head.
This will create an appearance of the head being covered in fairly rough feathers without having to draw every single one of them.
Once you finish these you should be done with the drawing of the eagles head.
Method 2 Of 4:a Flying Eagle
Step 11 Add The Feathers Around The Neck
As bald eagles have white feathers on their head/neck area you can shown this pattern by creating a sort of upside down crown pattern of feathers around the neck.
Randomize the size, curve and direction of these feathers but at the same try draw most of these to be larger than in other areas of the head.
Step 5: Draw Eagle Head
Now go back to the beak shape we made. Starting a little bit before the top hump of that beak were going to make a line that curves around the eye and comes down behind it, ending with a slight inward curve.
Then, halfway through the bottom of the beak well do a similar motion but with an inwardly curved line.

Look At Images Of Eagles
To draw a Bald Eagle, start by studying the photo here. You’ll note that the head and body are composed of mostly oval shapes and curved lines. Proportion and eye placement are important. As you draw, you’ll want to be aware of the size of the head in relationship to the body and the length of the wings in proportion to the height of the eagle. Keep the initial construction lines light so you can cover them or erase them from your finished drawing. To complete this drawing you will need a number 2 or softer pencil and a piece of bond or drawing paper. If you wish, you can use colored pencils, paints, or markers to add color to your finished sketch.
Step 1 Draw An Outline Of The Eagles Head
Start the drawing with a simple outline, basically a silhouette without any of the smaller details.
First draw a fairly large beak with a hook like tip and afterwards add the lines to define the top and bottom portions of the head/neck.
Please be aware that you can and may need to weak this outline as you begin adding the different parts of the head.

How To Draw A Bald Eagle Eye
The eagle’s eye expresses the character and spirit of the bird. Sketch in a crossed line to help with the placement of the eye in the front third of the head, and about a third of the way from the top of the head. Then draw an almost straight line for the eagle’s brow line and about three-quarters of a circle for the eye. Eye placement is very important, so take time to make sure it looks just right.

How To Draw A Bald Eagle Head Video & Step
Please PAUSE the “How to Draw a Bald Eagle Head ” video after each step to draw at your own pace.
For the first few steps, don’t press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.
Step 1: Draw a sloping line that curves up on the left side for the eagle’s eyebrow. Sketch lightly at first. When you get the shape right, darken the line. Make the line for the eyebrow thicker and darker.
Step 2: Under the eyebrow, draw a half-circle for the eagle’s eye. Make the outline of the eye thick so that it stands out. Add a bit of extra shading on the left side to make the eye pointier.
Step 3: Inside the eye, draw a tiny circle to represent glare. In the middle of the eagle’s eye, draw a big dot for the pupil. Draw the pupil big enough so that the top touches the eyebrow.
Step 4: Starting at the eyebrow, draw a long, curved line for the top part of the beak. This line should stretch to the left and then curve downward. The longer you make this line, the bigger the eagle’s beak will be.
Step 5: Continue drawing that same line toward the left to create the eagle’s mouth. Curve it so that it creates a sharp, pointy tip on the left side. Make it a bit wavy in the middle. It should stretch right as far as the eye.

How To Draw An Eagle With A Pencil
Here we come to the most interesting example in this article. We take a pencil, an eraser and draw a real bird. The first step in the direction of realism, we will have the image is not a realistic sketch. Do not press hard on the pencil, as these are only auxiliary contours, which will be further detailed.
Draw a beak and eyes. For a more dangerous type, well draw a line above the eye a little at an angle, as we do with eyebrows when we draw an evil person.
We cover with feathers as in the picture.
We work on the legs.
Now draw the wings.Tail and twig. Now we come to the last and most difficult step this is overlaying light and shade with a pencil. Take a look at the picture below and try to shade your eagle in the same way.
Step 5 Draw The Details Of The Eye
Once again you can see a step by step breakdown below. This time for the eye.
- Draw the pupil as a small circle or a light vertical oval
- Add the highlight overlapping the pupil as a tiny horizontal oval
- Show the eyelids as an outline around the main shape of the eye
- Define the shaded area
- Fill in the pupil and in shadow part of the eye with black or pencil shading
At this stage you should have a pretty much finished basic outline drawing of the eagles head. So you can begin darkening the lines you will keep for your final drawing by going over them with more solid strokes. You can alternatively use a pen or a black marker but only if you are very confident that you wont make a mistake.
