Step 1 Draw The Front Of The Combed Hair
The front portion of the hair will be the section that shows that it has been combed. Position it some distance below the hairline as the hair will need some length to be combed like this. Draw the front hair in medium sized clumps that are all sort of swept to one side. At the same time try and draw each individual clump pointing in a slightly different direction so that the hair looks more natural.

Its not a easy task if you think so. Any facial part requires a lot of concentration if you want to draw it perfectly.

Step 3 Draw The Top/back Of The Long Hair
Draw the back/top section of the hair pretty much tracing the shape of the upper part of the head some distance away from it. It should then starting to fan out more from around the top of the ears.
Inside the outline of the back/top shape draw a pair of lines going from the ears to the shoulders to help define the volume of that part of the hair.
Step 1 Draw The Front Of The Medium Long Hair
Begin the drawing of the actual hair by adding the part that goes down the middle of the face. It can start from about the top of the head and go down to around the tip of the nose . Draw this part as two combined clumps that curve in opposite directions forming a bit of an x shape near their bottom as they overlap. You can also draw some small splits into each clump to make the hair look a little more natural.
How To Draw Hair: Thinking Of Hair As Form
To be convincingly realistic in a drawing:1) The hair must describe the form of the head.
Let’s face it, the form of the head is basically an upside down egg. No matter what the model’s hairstyle, there is usually an area of hair that lies flat on the head and reveals the form. It is this area that is particularly important to pay attention to, otherwise the hair won’t look believable, or the skull may look strangely shaped.
2) The hair must follow the same lighting pattern as the face.
For example, the light must look like it’s coming from the same direction and have the same intensity or brightness throughout the drawing.
3) The hair drawing must convincingly represent the elements of light and shadow on form .
Not only does hair describe the form of the head, hair can be thought of as form itself.Just as there are many ways to conceptualize the head when drawing a portrait, there are just as many ways to conceptualize hair as form. For example:
Hair can be thought of as various forms depending on the hairstyle. For example, some curls can be thought of as cylinders, and can be rendered in much the same way. Notice that both the curl and the cylinder have a highlight, halftone and shadow area. The core shadow on the curl is somewhat obscured by its texture.
Finally, you can think of sections of hair as ribbons that have a thickness and texture. To keep yourself picturing hair as form while you draw, ask yourself:

Step 1 Draw The Front Of The Over One Eye Hair
As can be expected the front section of this hairstyle will be very large and long. You can think of the entire thing as being split into two main sets of clumps with one being smaller and one much larger . You can draw the split in these starting from around the top of the head.
Draw the clumps on the covered side generally larger and going down slightly farther than those on the open side of the face.
How To Draw Hair A Step By Step Guide
Lets start off easy with some straight hair. Then, we can try our hand at drawing something a little harder.
1. Grab the image you want to base your drawing off of. Im choosing this one:
2. Draw in your head just so that you have something to work on top of. Also, you kind of need a head for this eventually.
3. Draw a full outline of your hair. This will help you decide what shape you want your hair to take overall.
4. This next step is optional but I like to add in my holes or the places where my hair separates and lets the light in. This makes things easier for me when Im drawing each individual hair by remembering where I want the hair to separate.
5. Draw in your main hair strips or sections. Sectioning out your hair will help you determine how each hair curves aka what shape you should draw.
6. Section the rest of your hair out.
7. Now, go into each hair section and draw each individual hair going in the direction determined by your section. Luckily for you, its just a simple S curve right now. You can space them out however you like but since my model has dark hair, Im sticking my hairs real close to each other.
9. Now you can get rid of some outline edges so things look more natural.
10. Get rid of the part of your head thats covered in hair.
11. And youre done! She cute.
Ok, now lets ramp it up and see if you can handle drawing curly hair.
1. Start off with a reference image of your choosing.
3. Here comes your hair outline.

Add a layer of hair that sits on top of the area we defined and draw the hair moving back towards the hair tie
