Sketching An Anime Body
Draw Different Kinds Of Characters
We all have a certain type of character we like to draw and it can be easy to fall back on those drawings, whether it be a chibi, a pretty girl or a pretty boy. As you practice your anime drawings, its important to branch out and draw all kinds of people and characters. Itll vastly improve your drawings overall.

Bonus: How To Create Accessories
Creating a zine or a comic is pretty complex, so why not start with creating small items?
Today, I will explain how to prepare art for acrylic keychains, which are easy to make and look cute with chibi characters!
An acrylic keychain usually requires three separate data, depending on the printing vendor template.
Open the template, and paste these images on separate layers, usually the following:
Then, send the data to the printing vendor.
For the artwork, choose the data you want to use.
At the top, indicate where to place the hole for the keyring chain.
Make sure you dont draw anything over the hole.
The;white fill;is the base color under the illustration.
Without this white base, the illustration will be printed directly on the transparent acrylic, which makes the colors appear translucent and hard to see.
To print your illustration as you created it, make sure to create a white fill layer.
It is easy to create this data create a duplicate of the illustration layer and fill it with a solid color. The printing vendor will print this layer in white.
Because it sits under the illustration, the shape should be a silhouette of the artwork. If you want certain parts to appear transparent, you can remove the white fill on those parts.
Cut area;shows where the acrylic board will be cut.
The layer can be purely black. Fill the area surrounding the illustration in black.
Avoid creating a complex cut border, as the keyring maker may not be able to cut it.
How To Draw Hair
This is one of my favorite parts of whimsy faces.
I didnt prepare a drawing tutorial for the hair, Ill just show you some of my drawings so you can see how you can experiment with hair.
Just a quick note. If you want your hair to show movement, then add long, curvy lines in an upward direction, or to the sides.

My Hero Academia Creator Debuts Artwork Of Naruto Uzumaki
If you enjoy anime and manga, then there is little doubt you have heard of Naruto. The series is one of the most influential to ever come from Japan, and it still thrives to this day thanks to its sequel and legacy. Of course, today’s manga heavyweights were fans of Naruto during its early days, and few are bigger fans than the creator of My Hero Academia. That is why Kohei Horikoshi felt it was time to honor Naruto Uzumaki with a special sketch, and fans are admittedly blown away by the lively piece.
If you didn’t know, Kohei Horikoshi is a devout manga lover, and he has never shied away from how Naruto influenced My Hero Academia. That is why the artist decided to give his take on the Hidden Leaf’s most famous hero in a new poster. A piece of his art was published recently in Jump GIGA, and it was there fans could see how Horikoshi’s style fits Naruto.
As you can see below, the artwork is pretty much perfect. Horikoshi drew Naruto as he appears in the Shippuden anime. The ninja is shown crouching down with his hands held out before him. Naruto is conjuring a Rasengan in his hands, and the hero has a kunai knife bit between his teeth. Clearly, Horikoshi drew our hero amidst a big battle, and we are loving his take on the icon.

Is There Anyone Else You Should Know About
To be honest, if you have made it this far then you really should read the manga. Start with the original and the best: My Hero Academia Vol. 1. There are extra details from the creator and the books are better than the anime series .
For more Book Riot news on the series, fellow Rioter Shiri Sondheimer has shared her tips on How to Handle Fictional Character Deaths with Kids thanks to My Hero Academia characters.
I told you to choose your faves wisely.

Cleaning Up And Finishing The Drawing
Tip: Practice drawing different hairstyles on a piece of tracing paper over your drawing so you dont have to erase your character if you dont like the style you drew.
Experiment With Size And Distance
This is another way to add interest and make your faces unique.
The wider the distance between the eyes, the more whimsical the face looks.
Also, the bigger the eyes, tho more whimsy you add to them. Here, you can play with the details in the iris, such as catchlights and color.
Another cool idea is to make the lips too small or too big for the face. Youll end up with interesting looking faces, and maaaan, what fun youll have.

Changing Up The Proportions To Suit Your Own Style
Here comes the fun part! By changing the proportions, you can create different looks. I will go through a few examples and the changes made to achieve the style.
Cute/ chibi style
The trick here is big heads, big eyes and short chins! Ive made a more detailed post on how to draw the chibi style here.
From the picture above, you can see that a cute chibi style head is a lot shorter and rounder, thus cuter. The eyes are placed a lot lower on the face and there is little space for the nose and mouth. Some of the noses are almost on the same line as the bottom of the eyes. The eyes are also relatively larger.
More matured anime style
For a more matured anime head, the proportions should be more towards a realistic proportion. Ive made a post about it here.
As you can see from the example above, the eyes are relatively smaller and slightly higher.
Above are how to draw the head in anime style in front view! I hope youve learnt something new from this post and are able to draw your very own anime head in proportion.

How To Draw Lips
To draw the lips you only need a few lines.
Just remember, the curvier the lines, the more natural and soft the lips look. I got this advice long ago from Jane Davenport, and it never fails me.
First, draw two mountains like in the image below.
Then, add a curvy line for the valley beneath the mountains.
Finally, draw the third line in a bowl-like shape below the valley line.
You dont have to connect the lines. I find them really interesting when theyre drawn like this. Theyre more sketch-like.
How To Draw Female Faces Step By Step
First, Im going to show you how to draw each face feature individually and then well see how to set face proportions and where to put facial features.
This is really a simple tutorial that I know you can easily follow.
But mind you, at first, these faces will look all wonky, even strange. And you might ask yourself why youre even listening to me.
However, every time I draw faces, they look like strange aliens until I start finishing them. So, I just wanted to say: bear with me, theyll be beautiful in the end.

Be Skeptical Of Praise From Family And Friends
People who love you will always say your artwork is perfect, but heres the thing: theyre not being totally truthful. Sometimes, artists end up buying into all that praise and stop trying to improve. Always seek out people wholl give you honest feedback and constructive criticism. Its the only way youll grow as an artist!
