Draw Jack’s Bat Bowtie
Now, let’s turn this bowtie into a bat! First, draw bat ears, which are like cat ears. Draw two triangles on the top of the oval, on either side of the neck. Then, let’s draw the bat’s eyes. These are like two more watermelon seeds, pointed down. Or, you can make two ovals. ADVANCED CHALLENGE: add fangs! You can also add fangs which is a smile and two triangles pointing down. Once you’re done drawing the bat’s face, fill everything in except the eyes and the fangs.
Now that the bat’s face is done, let’s draw its wings. Draw two horizontal lines coming out the side of the bat face that almost touch the edge of the paper. Then, draw one diagonal line going up, and one going toward the bottom of the paper. Do that on both sides.
Now, starting at the end of the top diagonal line, draw a big curve going in toward the bat face, then coming back out to touch the end of the middle line. Then, do the same thing for the middle line and connect that with a big curve on the bottom line. Follow these instructions for the other side – remember, this is a symmetrical drawing!

How To Draw Jack Skellingtons Face
Wondering if you can make Jack Skellingtons face? I just looked at a picture of him and sketched it with a pencil. Then I drew it on a piece a paper with the gel to see how it flowed. Once I got the hang of it I made a few trial Ding Dongs and got to work!
Remember hes not perfect! His eyes can either be sloped upward OR downward, or big and round. I think his mouth is the biggest part that people will identify with.
To make his mouth with the Betty Crocker Black Gel. Draw an oversize smile, then use a toothpick to make lines going down from the mouth. And then turn around and make lines going UP at the same place they go down. It makes the mouth look just about perfect.

Add Details To Jack’s Bowtie
Let’s add some fun details! You can color in the bat bowtie completely black, or do the ADVANCED CHALLENGE and add pinstripes. Jack’s suit is pinstriped, which means that there are lines down the suit. To draw pinstripes, just draw lots of lines along the inside of the wings on both sides of the bat wings. Color solid black in between the lines that you drew.
Step By Step Instructions
Take the cage off of the front of the fan and apply strips of white washi tape to the outer edges of each fan blade. Apply two strips of white tape. The first strip on the outer edges of the blades and a second strip about an inch down the blades.
Take a scrap of white paper and put it on the front of the fan. Run your finger around the front circle to crease the paper. Then trace around the crease . Now you have a frame for your Jack Skellington drawing.
Google Jack Skellington and find a picture you like. Trace or draw Jack inside your circle frame. Then use a fine tipped black marker to detail your drawing.
Trim out your drawing and place it on the center of the fan. Use a sealant like Mod Podge Matte to attach it to the fan.
Once the sealant dries completely, re-assemble the fan, and your Jack Skellington Fan is done.

Add Details To Jack’s Face
Next, let’s draw Jack’s nose. His nose is more like nostrils. Let’s draw two watermelon seeds for his nostrils and fill them in black. PRO TIP: Jack Skellington is symmetrical, which means anything we do on the left side of his face, we also do to the right side. Everything is the same!
Now, let’s draw Jack’s mouth. This is one of his most distinct features! Draw a slightly wiggled “U” shape that follows the bottom of the face for his mouth. You can do a simple stitch by drawing lines across his smile, or you can do the advanced technique Kim shows in the video that are curved, like stitches on a baseball.
Now let’s draw Jack’s neck. It looks a little bit like a golf tee, or like a funnel! At the base of the head it starts wide and gets narrower as we go down. At the bottom of the neck, we’re going to draw an oval that is sideways. This is going to be the knot in the middle of his bowtie – which is actually a BAT!
Next Draw His Head Outline As Well As The Top Of His Outfit
Now that youve drawn his face, you can draw his head outline in this part of your Jack Skellington drawing.
His head is separated into two halves, with one curved line for the top and a wider one for the bottom of his head.
Then draw two short lines coming down from his head, as these will form his neck. Then we will create the collar of his outfit, and the center of it will be a small round shape that will serve as a sort of broach connecting the two wings.
Speaking of the wings, we will use some curved lines to form the shapes of his collar that look a bit like bat wings. Then youre ready for step 3!

Step : Draw Jack Skellington On Paper
As a test run use a marker to draw Jack Skellington on paper in a circle that is 3-4 inches in diameter before transferring it to the bulb. This will minimize the errors that could happen when using the ornament. If you feel like you are a good artist and can easily draw Jack on your ornament then this step could be skipped.
Paint The Inside White
Since we have clear ornaments we will need to paint the inside white. Use about a tablespoon of white acryllic paint on the inside of the ornament and swirl it around until the whole inside is covered. If you need to add paint you can but start with as little as possible to make the ornaments light and easier to dry.

Finish Off Your Jack Skellington Drawing By Drawing His Legs
Before we add some color to your picture, we have a few final elements to add in this part of our guide on how to drawJack Skellington.
First, we will be drawing his legs which will be crossed a bit. To draw the legs, you will be using some slightly curved lines to draw his legs as they appear in the reference image.
Then we will finish off by using some wavy lines for his coattails flowing behind him.
Then you can add some of your own elements and details to finish off your picture! You could draw some background details from your favorite scene of the film or add some more characters that you may love from the movie as well.
These are just a few ideas you could go for, but what else can you think of to finish off this image?
White Fudge Ding Dongs
These are my new favorite variation of a Ding Dong. White fudge, yellow cake, a cream filling! So much yum. Bonus? Theyre like a big mostly flat white canvas you can do pretty much anything on!
You do need to be aware that they are not perfectly flat, they are bumpy so you will have to work around that, otherwise, theyre awesome!

Now Draw The Hands For Jack Skellington
For this part of our Jack Skellington drawing, we will be drawing his skeletal hands. Because his hands are skeletal, we will be using several segments for his hands.
The arm on the left will have a hand that is raised up, and the one on the right will be curled to show that the hand is against his waist.
With both of his hands drawn, we just have a few final details to add in the next step of the guide!
Make The Jack Skellington Face:
Using either the cookie or an example from Google to use as your pattern for the faces on the iced cookies.
Begin by outlining the eyes first then fill them in. Make two small lines for the nose. For each of the mouths mark the long line curved first then add the small markings for the stitches. Remember you want his mouth to kind of have a rag doll feel.
Set these aside and allow to completely dry about 5+ hours.

How To Draw Jack Skellington
Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!
Intro: Start drawing Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: To draw Jack Skellington, start with a circle on the top half of the page. Underneath that circle, draw two lines that angle slightly to the right. These will make the basic shape for Jack Skellington’s head and neck.
Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the circle, one vertical line and one horizontal. When drawing the lines, bend them so that they follow the shape of a sphere. These will be construction lines that will help you place Jack Skellington’s features later on.
Step 3: Now give the Pumpkin King two big ovals that sit on top of the horizontal construction line on either side of the vertical construction line for his eyes. Draw the one on the left slightly bigger than the right because of the perspective. Draw in his mouth as a line that follows the shape of Jack Skellington’s head and sits below the horizontal construction line.
Step 4: For Jack Skellington’s bowtie, draw a triangle that points down below his neck. On top of this triangle draw two smaller triangles that point up.
