In some apps and contexts, you may see an icon of a pen within a circle, which also opens the current image in Markup. In Messages, tap an image before its sent to another person and you can tap the Markup link at the lower-left corner to access the same tools.

The view on an iPhone and iPad are nearly the same. Markup puts the Undo and Redo buttons at the top of the iPhone screen, while theyre on the Markup strip at the bottom on an iPad. The iPad Markup strip also has a More button that, when tapped, lets you enable Auto-Minimize, which shrinks the strip to a button while youre using Markup tools The iPad also shows five colors selections in addition to a color wheel, which is the only color item displayed on an iPhone.

How To Change The Paper In A Note On Ipad Or Iphone

IN Notes there is a function that allows you to select the type of paper for notes. This feature will prove to be very useful for Apple Pencil owners. By default, just a blank sheet opens, however, by going to Settings Notes Ruler and cage, you can choose ruled or checkered paper. Moreover, for each option, three options are offered .

Now that in Notes there is an opportunity to choose stationery, users will certainly want to add their own. So far, this option is not provided, but who knows, maybe it will appear in some of the next iOS releases.

How To Overlay A Grid On An Iphone Photo

I use my iPhone to take a photo, then overlay a grid to use as a guide to a chalk drawing of the photo. This process can be done on a computer, for example using photoshop, however, being able to use the iPhone potentially saves extra steps, time and is more portable.

The following steps describe the process I have experimented with to create grid overlays on the iPhone, which are printed to our hp color printer using an app for wireless printing.

    1. Take a Photo

This photo of a guitar player was taken at a local cafe one Saturday afternoon. Obviously, composition and lighting are important, but I didnt feel I could ask him to move his speakers and chairs around to accomodate my artistic needs!

    2. Open iPhone App to Edit Photo

There are several iPhone apps that allow you to overlay one image on another image or photo.

The program I currently use is Sketchbook Mobile Express, made by Autodesk. They offer a free version with up to 3 layers.

    3. Add a Grid Layer

Touching the small, round tool icon at the bottom of the SketchBook Mobile window brings up a set of icons. Touching the Layers Editor icon brings up a screen where + creates a new layer.

Then, touching the icon to the right of the + allows you to select an image from your photo library. I created a grid by using Photoshop Elements to draw the grid pattern, added the image to iPhoto, then synched to my iPhone. You can also email the grid file to your iPhone then save to a photo album.

    5. Sketch Image
