Welcome to the how to draw Star Wars area of the site.
Star Wars has always played some part in my life.
Toys when I was younger, and movies that I continue to watch to this day
Star Wars is just AWESOME.
And yes it only makes sense
If you love Star Wars and you love to draw then of course draw Star Wars! Thats exactly what were going to do here.
The Star Wars universe is a vast one, with many different races, g2ships, planets, etc. So yes there are literally tons of things we could tackle here in the form of drawing lessons.
For now, Im going to keep this area a character-oriented place with lessons geared around more of the popular people, aliens and creatures. Ah OK and a lightsaber lesson too!
Something else to note, similar to the Superhero section here on the site, each character in Star Wars has something special about them that separates them from others.
When it comes to drawing, its important to be able to recognize and incorporate such features in the cartoons we create here.
This way, well be able to come up with characters that look the way theyre supposed to.
Not necessarily perfect as they might look in the movies, but more of a homage to the particular character were drawing.
Well, I dont know about you but Im just about ready to get to it.
Take a look at the drawing lessons below select one and I know its both cheesy and expected but yes may the force be with you!

Now here comes my bold claim: with How To Draw Star Wars as my guide, I found that was not the case. Thats right, Im saying my drawings are not bad. And I think the credit for that goes to this book.
How To Draw Star Wars is structured into sections by difficulty levelpadawans, Jedi knights and Jedi masters. The padawan section is the biggest by far, easily half of the entire book, which makes it great for kids. And for me, because for the most part only the padawan section was my speed. It includes five different art styles to try, which are all easy enough to be approachable, but still vary in detail and complexity. So you get to pick and choose which drawings appeal the most to youI love the comic style art, but dont care for the doodle style, for instanceand feel like theyre within your skill level.
But theyre also not all so easy that there was no room for me to improve. I definitely found robots easier to draw than people, probably because getting the proportions slightly off on people is more off-putting than with robots. I expected masks to be easier to draw than faces, but actually I ended up finding masks quite tough. Theres something about the symmetrical curves that I struggled with.
Review: If I Can Learn How To Draw Star Wars You Can Too
Let me start off by saying that I am not an artist.
When I first agreed to review How To Draw Star Wars, it brought me back to middle school. I remember using how to draw books to try to draw anime characters in cool fighting poses, attempting to learn to do figure drawing using the circles and lines. While Im sure learning that way is effective for some people, Ive never been extremely artistic and these methods were just too advanced for 12-year-old me to get a handle on. And I havent really leveled up my illustration skills since then either. So when I imagined myself drawing Star Wars characters for this review, I absolutely thought that it would consist of hilariously bad drawings that I would graciously allow all of WWACs readers to laugh at, because Im more secure with myself now than when I was 12 and I can handle strangers making fun of my bad drawings.
